The Lymphatic system is a network of vessels and capillaries that cover the whole body. As you can see by the diagram, the head has a great many of these vessels. The Lymphatic system acts as a secondary pathway (Bloodstream is the first pathway), to carry away excess tissue fluid, and the end products of cellular metabolism such as carbon dioxide and other substances. It removes the impurities such as carbon particles, cancer cells, pathogenic organisms, and dead blood cells. The lymphatic system does not have its own pumping system such as the heart. It relies on compression of the lymphatic vessels by contraction of the muscles. This means movement and also the expansion of the chest during breathing to move lymph along. Lymph is simply tissue fluid that has entered the capillaries and vessels of the lymphatic system. There are so many oils that will help and improve the lymphatic system. Even lavender with some V-6 oils massaged to an area or on the feet and legs, (always massage towards the heart), will improve the circulation of the lymph system. Young Living makes an excellent massage oil that will help to detox and improve circulation of both the cardio-vascular system as well as the Lymphatic System—Cel-lite Magic In this view the skin of the front of the body is seen from
within. The left side of the body shows the lymphatic networks. The
right side of the body shows the arterial networks (red), the venous
networks (blue) and some of the larger superficial nerves (white). The
subcutaneous arteries and veins are cut at points where they penetrate
to deeper connections. Lymphatic, arterial, and venous networks are
shown in the head.
