Essential Oils and the Chakras

Chakras are major energy vortexes in the body, see picture below). Even an
acupuncture point could be considered a mini-chakra. In your physical body you basically have seven main ones. You also have fairly major ones in the palms, knees and soles of the feet.

As chakras are energy vortexes, they can be affected by energy, whether it be in the form of a color, a thought, a sound, or frequency, etc. In looking at pictures of chakras, they often look like colored dots sitting on the body, but they actually are spiraling vortices of
energy that are three dimensional. With practice it is entirely possible to extend the chakras and the entire eneregetic field, out several feet. In the Orient, some of the monks are able to extend their field out 50 feet or more. The way they measure this is by taking them out in the snow, and they are able to melt a large area around them.

There is a misunderstanding about the chakras. Chakras can also be likened to a flower unfolding. Often people will want their chakras "balanced" or "opened" The balancing and
opening of the chakras is actually a lifelong process. I can only assist the person in balancing or opening the chakras to the extent that it would be appropriate for them at the time. People are always coming into greater and greater balance. Also, for certain abilites, different "petals" are opened at different times. On
a chart, chakras look real
distinct in the separation of their area and color, but in
actuality, they are one color
intertwining in a magical dance coming up from the bottom of the
body. In actuality the
whole entire body and the energetic field within and without the
body is one chakra. The
goal is to open and extend the energy so that indeed, you become
a mighty column of
Light, that stretches from the center of the earth, to the
Highest Divine Light.

One more thing that is important. Chakras can become distorted.
The major reason is
lack of flow or movement. This refers to movement on all levels,
the blocking of energy,
whether it be physical, emotional, mental or spiritual movement.
Being constipated, no
matter, what level it is, is going to affect the chakras. Also
physical traumas such as
surgeries affect the chakras.

1. Base or root chakra. This chakra is located in the lowest
pelivc region. It actually
starts in the perineum (this would correspond to the acupuncture
point Ren (CV) 1)
The color associated with it is Red and the tone is the note C.
.This is the seat of our
creativity and sexuality. When this chakra is distorted or out
of balance, there may be
much fear, paranoia, and in general fears of the unknown, and
unability to connect to life.
When this chakra is in balance, there will be a feeling of
safety, security, willingness to
connect to life, and embrace lifes experiences.

2. Lower Belly Chakra (This area is also known as the Dantien,
or Hara in Oriental
medical thought and is considered to be the area where the energy
is stored going all the
way through to the kidneys) This is generally the area below the
navel and would
correspond to accupuncture points Ren 4-6, 7. its color is
orange, and the note is D.
This chakra also is about sexuality and expression of emotions,
or being emotionally
starved, and getting needs met. When out of balance, there will
be co-dependency, and
inability to freely bond, sometimes even with the self. When
more in tune or in balance,
the person will have a sense of belonging, and a more balanced
relationship with the self.

3. Solar plexus or upper abdominal chakra. The color is yellow
and the tone is E.
This chakra is more about acceptance and the need to be
validated. When out of balance,
the person may appear to be conceited or have an attacking
nature, or prideful. Alot of
trust issues are in this chakra, including self-trust. When in
balance, the person will have a
good sense of self and personal power, and have a healthy ego.

The 3 lower chakras are often about what is referred to as
survival issues. Simply being
able to navigate through life and manifest what is necessary.
Often childhood issues are
stored here. particularly around the navel where birth traumas
are stored. Old time people
waited until the cord had stopped pulsing before they cut it.
Now days they cut it
immediately. Issues of shame, and abuse are in this area.

4. Heart Chakra The color is green and the tone is F. This
chakra actually lies a little
above where the physical heart is. This is the chakra of
compassion and agape Love.
When out of balance, the expression of grief is blocked, and
there may be feelings of
undeserving and grasping for Love. Also avoiding Love and
commitment even to the self.
When in balance, there is indeed compassion and the ability to
move into Divine Love, and
have an ability to give and receive.

5. Throat chakra The color is blue, a deep sky blue, and the
tone is G. This is the chakra
of externalization and expression of the self and beingness.
When out of balance, there
will be suppression, fear of making mistakes, inhibited self and
growth.
When in balance the ability to communicate, and express, radiate
the true self.

6. Brow or third eye chakra. The color is indigo and the tone
is A. This is the chakra of
seeing, inner knowingness and wisdom, psychic abilities are often
radiatesthis area as well
as the heart. When out of balance, there will be denial, and
refusing to take responsibility.
Quite often when this chakra is blocked there is alot of
confusion.
When in balance the ability to see, to own and take
responsibility, to be intuitive, and
intrepret reality clearly.

7. Crown chakra The color is Violet to white The tone is B.
This is the chakra of Divine
awareness, where the Divine and the human meet and come together
down into the heart.
Higher wisdom. When out of balance, there will be feelings of
disconnection from the
Divine, lack of purpose, and inability to see the Light within
oneself. When in balance the
ability to experience and interact with the Divine. To have
"higher mind" knowingness,
and a connection and sense of purpose with the Divine plan.

The four upper chakras are considered more spiritual and help to
bridge the physical and
the Divine.
Different systems are going to have slightly different
intrepretations.

The chart below is taken from the small symptoms guide by Health
Compliments, and also
just what I have found to be useful for myself, clients and
students. Experiment and find
what works for you. These are suggestions, there are no hard and
fast rules. I would love
to hear what everyone has found to work for them. Of course
Lavender is always
wonderful on any chakra. I also love to use Joy or Abundance.
The blend White Angelica
is useful to increase the aura. I have found that using either
the blend M-grain, or
combining Marjoram, Lavender and Peppermint clear the aura.
Harmony also balances
the chakras. Forgiveness really is wonderful for releasing and
letting go of old issues.
Nina gave us some of her personal favorites. You might want to
try those.

Root Sandalwood, Patchouly, Grounding, Ylang-Ylang

2nd Sandalwood, Patchouly, Sage, Acceptance

3rd or Solar Plexus Fennel, Juniper,

4th or Heart Sandalwood, Bergamot, Rose,

5th or throat Sandalwood, Rose, Eucalyptus

6th or third eye Awaken, 3 Wise Men, Acceptance

I highly recommend buying the 7th Heaven kit and experimenting
with these blends, using
them on the chakras.
